3.1 Jeff Snow, Regional Leadership Council of Special Olympics, spoke regarding the 2015 Summer World Special Olympics. He congratulated the City on their designation as a Host Town and thanked the City Council for their participation.
3.2 Al Matta, resident, thanked the City for the well-organized construction of the Peyton Widening Project. He inquired regarding cameras on traffic signals along Grand Avenue.
City Manager Bartlam reported that the cameras on the traffic signals along Grand Avenue are for the timing of the lights and are not red light traffic cameras.
3.3 Sharon Stuewe, Chino Hills Auxiliary Radio Team (CHART), invited everyone to attend the Field Day Event on Saturday June 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Grand Avenue Park.

PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER REPORT
Public Information Officer (PIO) Cattern reminded everyone of the Stage III Water Alert and noted that water bill inserts are currently cycling through to all customers. For more information visit www.chinohills.org/WaterAlert.
PIO Cattern announced that the first Concerts in the Park event will be held on Wednesday, June 24th from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at Veterans Park. COUNCIL COMMENTS
Graham:
Council Member Graham requested information from the City Attorney regarding room for rent regulations in the City. He also inquired regarding a sign ordinance for the translation of commercial signage in the Latin/Roman Alphabet. City Manager Bartlam commented that this item would be placed on the agenda for a future meeting for discussion and City Council direction.
Bennett:
Vice Mayor Bennett reminded everyone to keep an eye out for children in the streets, especially in residential areas, as they will be out and about for summer vacation. He inquired regarding construction at Larios Market. Community Development Director Lombardo reported that a roof failure occurred and repairs are in progress. Vice Mayor Bennett requested that road work be done on eastbound State Route 142 to address safety concerns. Public Works Director Majaj reported that Caltrans has been notified and estimate a one to two week timeframe for the repairs.
Marquez:
Council Member Marquez noted that the language on the Water Conservation flyer and on the utility bill does not correlate and makes reading the bill and determining water usage complicated. He thanked staff for their efforts with regards to bringing recycled water to more areas and facilities in the City.
Rogers:
Council Member Rogers reminded everyone that Chino Hills will be a Host Town to delegates from Laos and Poland for the 2015 Summer World Special Olympics. He encouraged everyone to attend the events that will be held in Chino Hills on July 22nd in honor of those delegates. Council Member Rogers noted that the Special Olympics committee is looking for donations and volunteers and those interested may visit http://www.la2015.org/host-town/chino-hills to donate directly to the Chino Hills efforts.
Moran:
Mayor Moran reminded everyone that City facilities are watered using recycled water and inquired regarding timing of the watering. Public Works Director reported that daytime watering occurs in order to allow for the detection of broken equipment and leaks. He noted that more nighttime irrigation is anticipated in the future. Mayor Moran requested that signage be placed within parks in the City notifying residents that parks are irrigated with recycled water. She reported that she attended an affordable housing conference and the information presented was educational and important to the continued efforts of the City to maintain compliance with regulations. Mayor Moran requested that freeway off-ramp related traffic signal signage be replaced to match all traffic signal signage in the City. Mayor Moran noted that the State of the City Event is sold out but will be available for viewing on the cable channel.
Upon request, Chief Shackelford reported that following the annual BAPS Charities Walkathon on June 20th, BAPS donated $1,000 to the Chino Valley Fire District which will be used for the CPR and First Aid program.
